And yet you love this kind lady whom you have never seen, because she has given you a present. 'No,' answered the child 'but I love her because she sent me this beautiful present.' 'My child you told me the other day that you could not love God because you have never seen Him. The child took the book and was, for some time, became totally captivated in looking at the pictures, but soon she exclaimed, 'Oh, mother! How I love the good lady that sent me this book!' After hearing her daughter, she recognized her opportunity to teach about loving God, so she responded, 'But you never saw her, my dear,' said the mother. The child replied, 'Mother, I have never seen God how can I love Him?' Since the mother felt that she did not have an adequate answer at the moment, she decided not to give an answer.Ī few days later, she received a package from a friend who lived from another country and in the package was a beautiful picture-book for her little girl. I read a story about a godly mother who, one day, was talking to her little girl about her duty of loving God.
